Eagles will dazzle at Confed Cup, Sanusi assures

Head of National Competi-tions in the Nigeria football Federation, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed has tipped the Super Eagles to perform well at the FIFA Confederations Cup which is billed to commence this weekend in Brazil.
Speaking with Newswatch Sports in Abuja,   Mohammed said that the World Cup qualifying matches the Eagles have played and the recent international friendly match against Mexico is enough preparation the team needs to do well in this second most important football competition in the world.
He stressed that there is no better way to prepare for a major competition than the opportunities the Super Eagles have had by virtue of the World Cup qualifiers and friendly match they played.
“The Eagles will definitely perform well at the Confederations Cup. The friendly match against Mexico and the World Cup qualifiers were enough opportunities to blend the team well for the competition,” he said.
Sanusi also noted that the matches have provided the new entrants the opportunity to understand the playing pattern and philosophy of the team.
“There are some new players in the team who would have never had the opportunity of blending very well with the rest of the team; but the matches that have been played offered them the opportunity and it is so good for the team as a whole,” Sanusi maintained.
