Echiejile happy with national team progress

Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile has revealed his excitement at the progress he has been able to muster in the national team colours even as  set Eagles took on Namibia yesterday in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Windhoek.
The Sporting Braga defender who has interestingly represented Nigeria at U-17 and U-20 levels before he graduated to the full international level said he was proud of the milestone he has been able to achieve adding that he will continue to do his best to maintain the momentum.
“It’s really great to know I’m in line to reach such a milestone,” Elderson said about his 30 cap in Eagles on his newly launched official website.
“I just wish to continue to do my best while representing my great country.”
Elderson, who debuted for the Eagles against France in a 2009 friendly in Saint Etienne, has made the left back position his own and has, before yesterday’s game raked in 29 caps.
Elderson was a member of the Flying Eagles at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada, where he played five games and scored a goal.
The Portugal based defender also played a key role in Nigeria’s triumphant run at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations where he also registered his name amongst the goal scorers in Africa’s biggest soccer tournament.
