Ex-Eagles star extends stay in India

Nigeria international, Uga Okpara would remain with his Indian club, East Bengal Football Club for another season after the defender agreed to the club’s fresh offer.
The former home-based Super Eagles player has been at the club for three seasons and his impressive performance for the Asian side has earned him another contract.
He is regarded as one of the best defenders in the Indian Premier League and has helped his side to incredible eight trophies since joining up in 2009.
Okpara was a member of the Enyimba Football Club squad that won the CAF Champions League back-to-back and has also represented Nigeria with two Africa Beach Soccer Championship titles.
The player has said the club has treated him very well since he moved there and he had no qualms agreeing to stay for another term.
“I love everything here, the players, the management, the coaching staff, everyone has treated me well and when the club came with fresh deal I wasted no time in signing because this is a very good club. I want to continue to do my best to help this club achieve their dream,” he said.
