NPFL: Ogunbote wants Sharks’ fans to keep faith

Gbenga Ogunbote, the Head Coach of Sharks FC of Port Harcourt has appealed to the club’s supporters to keep faith in spite of the team’s uninspiring performance, in the ongoing season.
Sharks currently occupy the 20th position on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) standings with 14 points.
Yet the embattled coach said regardless of the team’s recent run of poor results, the fans must not relent in their support.
``I can assure the fans that we are working hard on making the team better, and we will soon get it right.
``Its a work in progress, we are working on winning, and I am optimistic that we will leave the fans with something to cheer at the end of the season.
``Ever since we made some vital changes, the team is gradually hitting its stride and will definitely get better as the season progresses,’’ he said.
Ogunbote added that the team was looking at bouncing back in its next match against Enyimba FC; after it suffered a 1-0 lose away to Nasarawa United last weekend.
The coach stressed that the team was working hard to improve its tactical approach and added that the process was ongoing.
``We’re trying to make do with the players we have at our disposal to achieve our objectives.
``We want to infuse in them a winning mentality in order to get the desired results; that will hopefully improve our situation,’’ Ogunbote said.
